ST. LOUIS, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The board of directors of Peabody Energy today declared a regular quarterly dividend on its common stock of $0.10 per share. The dividend is payable on March 6, 2002, to holders of record on Feb. 12, 2002.

Peabody Energy is the world's largest private-sector coal company. Its coal fuels more than 9 percent of all U.S. electricity generation and more than 2 percent of worldwide electricity generation.
