Peabody has announced that Lori J. Mason has been named senior counsel, reporting to Jeffery L. Klinger, vice president - legal services. Mason will provide legal counsel for matters affecting Peabody and its subsidiaries and affiliates in the Appalachian region of the United States. She is located in Peabody's Charleston, W.Va. office.

Mason has 17 years of corporate law experience. She was part of the legal staff of CONSOL Energy in Pittsburgh for 12 years and most recently served as senior counsel.

Mason holds a bachelor of science in business administration and a juris doctorate from West Virginia University in Morgantown. She is admitted to practice in both West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
