Carswell Named Director of Financial Analysis for Peabody

Peabody Energy today announced that Robert E. Carswell has been named director of financial analysis, reporting to L. Brent Stottlemyre, vice president - finance and controller. Carswell is responsible for research and financial analysis to support financial and business decisions; management of capital spending authorization and analysis; and management of the sales and trading accounting function.

Carswell has more than 10 years of experience in financial analysis and business development in the energy industry, including positions with Koch Industries and Shell Oil subsidiaries. He most recently served as manager of acquisitions and business development for the central region of Calpine Corporation. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration with a double major in economics and finance from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Tex., an MBA in finance and strategic analysis from Texas A&M University in College Station and a doctor of jurisprudence degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston.
