Peabody Names Lina Young Vice President - Health Care Management

Peabody Energy announced today that Lina A. Young has been named to the new position of vice president - health care management, reporting to Executive Vice President - Human Resources and Administration Sharon D. Fiehler.

The position will oversee initiatives to ensure that employee and retiree health care benefits are provided at appropriate costs in a rapidly changing environment. Young will have responsibility for all health care initiatives including health and welfare plans, cost containment, workers' compensation programs and related retiree costs. Bob Sanders, director - health and welfare plans, and Danny Moriarty, director - cost containment, will report to her.

Young joined Peabody in 1994 from Southwestern Bell and has since served in several information services roles, most recently as vice president - information services. She has a master's degree in telecommunications and a master's degree in information management, both from Washington University in St. Louis, and a bachelor's degree in computer science from Tulane School of Engineering in New Orleans.

Information services functions will temporarily report to Mark Phillips, director - business solutions.
