Peabody Energy today announced that Christina A. Morrow has been named Director of Investor Relations and Assistant Treasurer. She will report to Vice President of Public and Investor Relations Victor P. Svec and Vice President and Treasurer Walter L. Hawkins.

Morrow will be responsible for supporting the company's investor communications programs, including investor outreach initiatives, in addition to long-term strategic capital planning and major project financings.

She previously was Senior Manager of Investor Relations and Treasury and joined Peabody in 2001. She has had roles with increasing responsibility in the generation development, investor relations and treasury groups.

Morrow has a master's degree in business administration from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis. She was a magna cum laude graduate of McKendree College in Lebanon, Ill., with a bachelor of business administration in accounting and a bachelor of science in computing and information science.

Peabody Energy is the world's largest private-sector coal company, with 2003 sales of 203 million tons and $2.8 billion in revenues. Its coal products fuel more than 10 percent of all U.S. electricity and more than 2.5 percent of worldwide electricity.
