Peabody Energy President and Chief Executive Officer Gregory H. Boyce will present the keynote address to kick off McCloskey's Coal USA Conference in New York on June 27, 2006.

Coal is the fastest growing fuel in the world, and long-term projections of global coal use have just been dramatically increased. Advanced coal technologies provide a path toward zero-emissions from coal, and Btu Conversion technologies stand to greatly expand coal's markets. Boyce will discuss this robust beginning to what he calls "The Century of Coal."

Peabody Energy is the world's largest private-sector coal company, with 2005 sales of 240 million tons of coal and $4.6 billion in revenues. Its coal products fuel approximately 10 percent of all U.S. and 3 percent of worldwide electricity.
