Hull Named Group Executive For Peabody's Colorado Operations

Peabody Energy today announced that Larry Hull has been named Group Executive of Colorado Operations. He will have responsibility for Twentymile Coal Company's Twentymile Mine near Oak Creek and development of additional coal reserves in Colorado. Hull reports to Group Vice President of Western Operations Kemal Williamson.

Hull has served as Director of Underground Mining for Black Beauty Coal Company in Evansville, Ind., since July 2004. He has more than 20 years of mining experience in a variety of senior engineering and operations positions with a major coal producer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from Virginia Tech, a Master of Science degree in Management from MIT Sloan School of Management and is a Sloan Fellow.

Peabody Energy is the world's largest private-sector coal company, with 2005 sales of 240 million tons and $4.6 billion in revenues. Its coal products fuel approximately 10 percent of all U.S. and 3 percent of worldwide electricity.
