Peabody Energy
Crews' diverse financial experience and history with Peabody will allow him to provide leadership and advice in financial planning, forecasting and capital management. He will also be responsible for integrating a comprehensive corporate performance assessment system throughout all levels of the organization designed to further align performance with corporate goals and strategies.
Reporting to Crews are Director of Financial Planning Bradley E. Phillips and Director of Performance Assessment Jeffrey D. Timmerman, and the Director of Capital Management position which is currently open.
Crews has 17 years of financial experience and a strong background with Peabody. He joined Peabody in 1998 as Senior Manager of Financial Reporting. He has served as Assistant Controller - Corporate, Director of Planning and most recently Assistant Treasurer. Prior to joining Peabody, Crews spent six years at KPMG Peat Marwick in St. Louis.
He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accountancy from the University of Missouri at Columbia and a Master of Business Administration degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
Peabody Energy is the world's largest private-sector coal company, with 2005 sales of 240 million tons of coal and $4.6 billion in revenues. Its coal products fuel approximately 10 percent of all U.S. electricity generation and 3 percent of worldwide electricity.
