Peabody Energy Promotes Frontczak and Sullivan to Posts as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel

Peabody Energy today announced that it has promoted Mary L. Frontczak and Edward L. Sullivan to posts as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, reporting to Executive Vice President Law and Chief Legal Officer Alexander C. Schoch.

Frontczak will provide legal counsel for Peabody's Southwest and Colorado operations and will serve as litigation counsel for the company. Frontczak has 16 years of experience in the legal field including management and litigation of complex business disputes. Prior to joining Peabody in 2005 as Senior Counsel, she served as Senior Counsel at The May Department Stores Company. Frontczak holds a bachelor's degree magna cum laude from St. Louis University and a juris doctorate from the St. Louis University School of Law.

Sullivan will be responsible for legal counsel of Peabody's domestic commercial transactions and operational matters. Sullivan has more than 20 years of experience in the legal field. He joined Peabody in 1981 and has served in a number of legal positions with the company and its affiliates including Senior Counsel, Legislative Counsel and Director of Legal and Public Affairs. Sullivan holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Saint Anselm's College in New Hampshire and a juris doctorate from the St. Louis University School of Law.
