The board of directors of Peabody Energy today declared a regular quarterly dividend on its common stock of $0.07 per share. The dividend is payable on March 3, 2010, to holders of record on Feb. 10, 2010.

The company expects to make an announcement regarding its next regular quarterly dividend on or about May 4, 2010.

Peabody Energy is the world's largest private-sector coal company, with 2009 sales of 244 million tons and $6.0 billion in revenues. Its coal products fuel approximately 10 percent of all U.S. electricity generation and 2 percent of worldwide electricity.
