The board of directors of Peabody Energy today declared a regular quarterly dividend on its common stock of $0.07 per share. The dividend is payable on June 3, 2010 to holders of record on May 18, 2010.

Peabody Energy is the world's largest private-sector coal company, with 2009 sales of 244 million tons and $6 billion in revenues. Its coal products fuel approximately 10 percent of all U.S. electricity generation and 2 percent of worldwide electricity.
