An employee of the Willow Lake Mine was fatally injured earlier today in an underground incident involving a shuttle car.

The mine was immediately shut down for a full investigation following this unacceptable event. The appropriate state and federal officials have been contacted and the full circumstances are still unknown.

A loss like this is felt by all of us. We mourn the loss of a fellow employee, and we express our deepest sympathies to family members and friends.
