ST. LOUIS, Nov. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- An international panel has recognized Peabody Energy
(NYSE: BTU) with a Global Energy Commodity Excellence Award for leading the global coal sector in performance and stewardship. The honor was presented at the 14th Annual Global Energy Awards Ceremony in New York City.
The Commodity Excellence Award recognizes Peabody for industry-leading safety, operational, marketing and environmental achievements, corporate citizenship and financial success. In addition, Peabody Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Gregory H. Boyce was a finalist for the Global Energy Chief Executive Officer of the Year Award. Peabody also was named a finalist for the Strategic Deal of the Year Award and the Corporate Social Responsibility Award.
